At the end of Term 3 the Year 3 students headed off on their first school camp to Kindilan. These facilities were a hidden bushland paradise located in a local Conservation Area. Children connected with themselves, each other and the great outdoors. On the back of our recent English unit where the children wrote narratives about facing fears, the essence of this adventure camp was a chance for the children to challenge themselves, realise their potential, build confidence and experience success as part of a team. On arrival there was plenty of fun and laughter as the children faced their first team challenge in the wacky races. They took a leap of faith to soar along the flying fox and trusted their teammates who sent them flying into the air on the possum glider. Afterwards the most common statements being, can I do that again? After a long day filled with fun and laughter the children settled down in their pyjamas for popcorn and a movie before heading off to bed in the beautiful roundhouses and lodges. Both the children and teachers had a truly fabulous time.
