On Friday 29 October, the Student Council are holding a 'Day for Daniel' Free Dress Day. The Day for Daniel is a National Day of Action to raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention and to promote a safer community for children. Although all students are taught the Daniel Morcombe Child Safety units at various junctions throughout their schooling at Thornlands State School, this day is a further opportunity to reinforce the key messages taught through these units. On this day the children will be reminded to Recognise, React and Report if they feel something is not right. For a gold coin donation, students can wear red – Daniel Morcombe's favourite colour. Any clothing must be appropriate for school and be sunsmart. More information can be found on the following website: http://www.dayfordaniel.com.au/
