Last weekend, the Redlands Touch grounds hosted over 200 primary school touch football teams from all over Queensland for the QLD All Schools Touch Football competition. Touch football has really taken off in our school ver the past few years and this year we were able to field three Year 5/6 teams led by the very talented and dedicated Mr Benn Lovell and Mr Aaron Tuni. These students certainly did our school proud progressing through 6 games played over Friday and Saturday to the round of 16 and quarter finals on Sunday with the Year 5/6 boys Green Team making it all of the way through to the Grand final to just be beaten by one try much to Mr Lovell's heartache.
A big thank you to Mr Lovell and Mr Tuni for their time and effort to train these three teams over the past 6 months and to Mr Gordon for stepping in to support the teams on the Friday night and of course the parents and supporters who came to cheer our teams on. Thank you. Thank you also to our P&C for purchasing the jerseys and visors for our teams to wear so that they not only played well, were sun safe, but they looked good doing it!
