This term we are very excited to be celebrating Book Week (Week 7, August 23 – 27). The theme this year is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds and we are busy organising displays and fun activities in the Library around this theme. During library lessons this term students have been enjoying a selection of titles shortlisted for the Children's Book Council of Australia's Book of the Year awards and even have the chance to vote for their favourite. This week in the library we have been reading 'Ellie's Dragon' by Bob Graham and students have been busy creating their own dragon to take home.
We are having two fabulous authors visit our school during Book Week this year. Dave Lowe will be talking to Year 3 – Year 6 students on Wednesday 25 August and Michelle Worthington will be talking to our Prep – Year 2 students on Friday 27 August.
NAIDOC Week in the Library
During Week 1 this term we celebrated NAIDOC week in the library with displays, activities and lots of wonderful books written and illustrated by Indigenous Australian authors.
