'Thornlands Thinkers' - Enrichment program
Here at Thornlands State School we are implementing several enrichment programs to further enhance and extend the skills of our high achieving students. Enrichment groups are another way for us to differentiate for our high ability students.
Students in Year 1-6 participate in 'Thornlands Thinkers'. Children participating in these programs were nominated by their class teachers. These nominations were based on data obtained from student assessment data, NAPLAN data and class achievements.
Thornlands Thinkers activities vary every year but include Debating, Code Breaking, Problem Solving, STEAMAthlon, Equation Challenges and more.
As part of 'Thornlands Thinkers', students across the entire school have the opportunity to participate in whole school enrichment programs such as Science Workshops, Kaboom Percussion Workshops, entry in whole school competitions (such as Writing competitions) and wider departmental competitions such as the Art in Agriculture Awards.
