NAIDOC Art Competition 2021

With NAIDOC week fast approaching, the South East Region Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander team will be conducting a region wide NAIDOC Art Competition open to all P-12 students enrolled in a South East Region school.

NAIDOC 2021 theme is Heal Country.

The competition allows schools and students to display their creative talent, build on their knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to celebrate and contribute to NAIDOC week within their own community.

The competition will open from Monday February 1st and will close Thursday April 1st 2021. The winning artwork will be used to promote NAIDOC week throughout South East Region schools and be displayed on the SER NAIDOC Awards in June 2021. Terms and Conditions below.

Terms & Conditions
I. Entry is open to all P-12 students enrolled in a South East Region State School.
II. All art work should be representative of the 2021 NAIDOC theme: Heal Country, and be inspired by Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
III. All art work should include the theme’s words: Heal Country.
IV. Start Date: Monday February 1st, 2021, End Date Thursday April 1st, 2021 4pm.
V. Entries must be mailed or delivered to the SER Regional office by 4pm, Thursday April 1st, 2021. (Mail: P.O. Box 492, Oxenford, Qld, 4210: Physical: Level 1, 340 Hope Island Road, Hope Island).
VI. All entries must be drawn or painted on paper no larger than A3 size.
VII. No responsibility will be taken for lost, delayed or misplaced entries.
VIII. All entries must be clearly labelled on the back with the entrant’s name, age, school and year level.
IX. Whilst the Department of Education will take all possible care, no responsibility will be taken for any damage, which may occur during the displaying of the artwork or within the competition period.
X. All artwork entered will be displayed/hung at the South East Regions 2021 NAIDOC Exhibition.
XI. The judging will take place after the competition closes. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered in to.
XII. After judging, the winning artwork will become the property of the South East Region Department of Education and may be used to promote the South East Region’s 2021 NAIDOC Awards and/or on the South East Region 2021 NAIDOC Awards.
XIII. The winner will be notified on Friday April 30th, 2021.
