This week we celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime and we were so excited to have our Principal Kym Amor read this year's text 'the Speedy Sloth' to our children over Teams enabling all of our children to enjoy this in their classroom simultaneously!
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is a nationwide event that takes place annually on the fourth Wednesday of May. This year, it was held on May 24th, 2023 at 11am. The event is organised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and its purpose is to promote the value of reading and literacy. During NSS, people of all ages come together to read the same story at the same time on the same day! This creates a powerful sense of community and encourages young people to develop a lifelong love of reading.
The book chosen this year was 'the Speedy Sloth' by Rebecca Young. A lovely book about giving things a go and being proud of your achievements.
