I would like to share with the Thornlands Community, that after almost 40 years of teaching, I have decided to retire at the end of Term 2.
I began my teaching career in 1983, but have been at Thornlands SS on and off since 1988. During this time I have worked as a classroom teacher, Head of Curriculum and lastly as a Deputy Principal. With much pride, I have seen the school grow and become one of the highest performing schools in our area.
The Thornlands SS community is a wonderful community and it has been a pleasure and a joy to teach the students and to form relationships with their parents and the wider community. I have even taught the parents of some of the students currently enrolled at the school and this makes me feel quite old!!!!
I would like to thank the students, parents, staff and community for the warmth, respect and support you have shown me over the years.
I wish you all good health and much happiness for the future and always remember ……….
Thornlands SS is not just a good school, it’s a GREAT school.
