Adopt a Cop Program

​​​​In conjunction with Constable Craig Jewell of the Cleveland Police Station, Thornlands State School has established a mutually beneficial community focussed ‘Adopt a Cop’ program.

Purpose

To build positive relationships between police and members of the school community.

​The program is an integral part of policing and reflects a greater emphasis on police partnerships with the community. 

Benefits

Benefits of the program include:

  1. The enhanced safety and wellbeing of children through education.
  2. Positive attitudes of children towards police and the community.
  3. The encouragement of law abiding behaviour.
  4. The development of appropriate community safety and crime prevention strategies that address local issues.
