P&C

The P&C Association would like to welcome you to Thornlands State School. The role of the P&C has changed over the years and they are now more involved in decision making in the school. Members of the P&C are actively involved in:

  • Decision making as a P&C body with representatives on school-based committees covering a wide range of issues

  • Fund-raising

  • Addressing community concerns about Thornlands State School

Sub-committees of the P&C include:

  • Fundraising committee

  • Tuckshop committee

  • Pre-school parent group

  • All Music Programme Supporters (AMPS)

  • Fete committee

The P&C is responsible for the school uniform shop and stocks both new and second hand uniforms for sale.

The above sub-committees work under the P&C guidelines in a variety of ways which greatly enhance the Thornlands State School community. All families associated with the school are encouraged to become involved in some way with these parent groups.

Your support is needed to raise funds for the school and, as interested partners in your children's education, to come to meetings to hear about current issues, to voice your concerns, express your ideas and to have input into your child's future.

P&C members are covered by an insurance scheme and should be registered so as to ensure cover by the scheme.
