It has been a very successful term for our 67 Year 3 and Year 5 students involved in Thornlands Thinkers. The focus for this terms' Thornlands Thinkers was on problem solving and reasoning. Students spent the first half of the term creating and designing their own theme park, taking into account budget, staffing and space requirements. The second half of the term was spent looking at how to explain our thinking to others.
This
term we also ran two competitions that all students were able to participate
in. We had lots of entries in our creative writing competition based around
Curiosity, with the winners currently being selected by our team of judges.
We also had a fantastic response to the Art in Agriculture Competition which
mixes Science and Art. Students had to submit a fisheries themed artwork in any
style or medium. These art pieces will soon be sent off to the Warwick Art
Gallery for judging and we look forward to sharing the outcome of this judging
in Semester Two. Included below is a photo of some of the entries.
Next term our Year 2 and 4 students will be involved in Thornlands Thinkers, with more information to come in Term Two. Congratulations all of all our students involved in Thornlands Thinkers.
