The
Library was buzzing with excitement last week when we celebrated Book Week and
our love of reading. Our library was transformed into different worlds where
students were immersed in many displays and fun activities. It was wonderful to
see so many children visiting the library enjoying reading books and
participating in the Book Week activities on offer.
Book Week Author Visits
We were very lucky to have two authors visit our school during Book Week this year. Dave Lowe spoke to the Year 3 – 6 students in a very engaging session about his life and what it is like to be an author. He inspired students with some great tips and ideas to use when writing their own stories and his books have been flying off our library shelves this week.
On Friday Prep – Year 2 students enjoyed story time sessions with award-winning author Michelle Worthington where they sang songs, listened to stories and learnt what it is like to be an author and write your own books.
Classroom Door Displays
The whole school was decorated with amazing book themed artwork last week. Classes enjoyed touring around the school admiring the door and window displays for Book Week.
