All Year 5 students have been studying poetry this term. 5J students have been very engaged in the poetry writing process, developing an understanding of the structure of different types of poetry as well as developing skills in using a variety of poetic language devices. As a result, they have written and illustrated Limericks that include Jandai words. Jandai is a local Indigenous language from Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island). 5J’s work is currently on display in the Library for others to enjoy. (The next challenge for the students of 5J . . . Haikus and Cinquains using Jandai words too!)
