Term 3 has been packed with engaging learning activities for the Year 3 students. Their teachers would like to share a few of these moments.
In English, the children have been engaging in Art activities related to ‘The Lorax’. They used noun groups to create imagery in their setting and character descriptions. Students have been busy writing narrative retells from the perspective of other characters in the texts. They brought reading to life by following procedures to cook tzatziki and create a stop motion animation.
In Mathematics, students have been busy measuring, ordering and comparing objects using familiar metric units of length, mass and capacity. They have explored money through a range of real life, hands on activities and games to practise counting money and calculating change. Students explored multiplication by practising their skills and solving problems. This culminated into a Multiplication Fair where they created their own games to play with their classmates.
Technology has been the highlight of the week in most classes, where we have been building and programming with Lego WeDo.
