Thornlands State School Library

Our Library is a learning hub, providing opportunities and resources for students to develop both reading ability, and information literacy.

In addition to regular class lessons which contain a planned sequence and progression of learning that aligns with classroom programs, the Library also serves as a place for students to do independent work, and use computers, equipment and research materials. Special events, such as author visits, Book Fair and Book Week are also hosted in the Library.

  • "I Read @ Home” is our voluntary reward program. To receive prizes and certificates, students keep a Reading Log of the library books they borrow and read.
  • As well as an extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction, the Library has a selection of ebooks for borrowing.
  • The Thornlands Library edStudio is an online space available to all students.
  • The Library opens for students at 8:15 a.m. each school day for browsing, reading and borrowing. and it is open at play-time in both breaks.
